Safeway became Finast. The store was doubled in size in the 1970’s. The store had two different ceiling heights when it was Finast and has 12 check stands without numbers. Finast also had a pharmacy for many years where the bakery is now. Finast actually closed this store as it was losing money. It sat vacant for a short while with no takers and Finast re-opened in 1987 using the same 1970’s Finast signage outside. They then became Edwards for a few years then ultimately S&S.
