This Stroudsburg Weis looks like a pretty modern store, but it actually goes back as far as the 1950s or so when it was built as an ACME. It later became a King's IGA and then, when Weis purchased both King's and Mr. Z's (two IGA operators in eastern Pennsylvania), the store was converted to Mr. Z's, a banner it kept until 2008.
The store has, of course, been renovated and expanded, probably several times, and is now around 52,000 square feet.
Weis used to be all alone out here to the west of Stroudsburg, with just a small ALDI not far away, but in 2019 the Stroudsburg ShopRite moved into the Stroud Mall just a quarter mile west. That's tomorrow's tour, so come back to check it out!
