Update: Kings Food Markets!

Time for another set of Kings updates -- although they're all very small.

Livingston

Albertsons Companies is making themselves known at my Livingston Kings, although not necessarily in the most, um, professional way. This rather old Safeway trailer is now used as storage, joining another older trailer to the right visible in the picture below, that's not branded. The one problem is that this loading dock is highly visible from the main street, Livingston Avenue, and the Safeway logo is just as big on this truck as the Kings logo on the storefront. Why?
And in a more subtle way, Albertsons Companies has their name on this new plastic bag return bin. I haven't seen this type of bin at any other Albertsons Companies store, but I'm sure they'll be added little by little.

Millburn

We saw the renovation at Millburn a while ago, but small changes are still happening here and there. The seafood department has received new fixtures, as we see here (compare to my last picture). Here's the original tour of the store. That's all for Kings, and I'm still waiting for a real renovation at any of the stores. Any day now... but probably not, as long as the Kroger merger is still pending. But you can see the major renovation at an Ideal Food Basket in Brooklyn and the closing at Stop & Shop in Highland Park today!

  1. Funny that they add plastic bag containers after NJ stops allowing plastic bags (though of course there are other things that can be recycled in them).

    1. True, although is that perhaps why? People will have a surplus of old bags at home but they're not getting any more, so they want to get rid of them?

  2. The few Acme stores I've been in recently in PA also have those new bag recycling bins.
