It's not particularly well-known, although it is considered one of the best places to live in PA. If anything, it's known for the Keswick Theatre -- located directly behind this supermarket. And this is indeed a supermarket, despite the fact that it's only 6000 square feet. I'm also willing to guess that there's a fair number of Irish and British people here, given the name of the Keswick Theatre, the Tudor style buildings on the main streets, and, well, the O'Neill's Food Market. We'll see that there is an Irish and British food section here. But we begin with the produce department, which takes up the first aisle before transitioning into prepared foods. Original Tenant: A&P (possible) Address: 123 S Easton Rd, Glenside, PA Opened:  unknown Closed:  unknown Later Tenants:  Fine Wine & Good Spirits Photographed:  July 22, 2021 We're here in the middle of the small town of Glenside, PA, to check out this building that I suspect was previously a grocery store. Of course, I don't know that for a fact, but JoshAustin610 lists an A&P at 132 S Easton Rd in Glenside from 1953 to 1964. Well, I don't see any building at 132 that's obviously a former A&P, but especially given this building's apparent similarity to the American Family Market in Narberth (a former A&P), I think it's possible 123 was incorrectly transcribed at some point as 132. That said, 136 S Easton Road also looks a fair amount like a former A&P, and the building where 132 would be appears to be much newer than the 1950s so it's possible either 136 was the A&P, or 132 is long gone. Produce Junction Owner: Albert Gentile Opened:  unknown Previous Tenants:  Penn Fruit Cooperative:  none Location:  265 S Easton Rd, Glenside, PA Photographed:  July 22, 2021 This 1950s-era (pre-arch) Penn Fruit location in Glenside, just outside of the downtown, today has been expanded from the roughly 8900 square foot original supermarket to the present 16,000 square foot produce and garden center store. Produce Junction is not a chain I'm very familiar with, but they're a regional 20-store chain with locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The stores tend to be no-frills warehouse-style stores selling loose and bulk produce and other similar items, but really no other grocery items. Glenside does have a small supermarket today, but before we get there we'll be headed to a place I suspect was previously a supermarket on the town's main street over on Grocery Archaeology on Monday!
