Most recently, I wrote (overly dramatically, of course, as is my tendency) about the Sleepy Hollow location in New York's Westchester County, a truly spectacular supermarket. That store proves they can produce an incredible, first-rate supermarket when they're building a store from the ground up. What about when they're revitalizing a closed chain supermarket? ACME Markets Opened: November 2015 Owner:  Albertsons Companies Previous Tenants:  A&P (1960s-2015) Cooperative:  none Location:  160 W Putnam Ave, Greenwich, CT Photographed:  January 24, 2025 We're returning to the ACME of Greenwich, CT, a small former A&P of just around 21,000 square feet. (For ACME, that's small, but it's obviously quite a bit bigger than the small NYC stores we're also seeing this weekend!) You can check out my previous, very short, post on the store here . It's directly across the street from an equally small Grand Union-turned-Stop & Shop . Now, ACME has announced they're closing this store in early October. So let's take a look at the store before it closes! Note that these pictures were taken back in January.
