Of course, like the Whole Foods we saw a few days ago, it's gotten extensive work over time, but it's really only had one tenant. Two, if you count the fact that the store was briefly converted to Shaw's from the early 00s until around 2010. This is one of the relatively few stores that was converted from Shaw's to Star Market during Supervalu's ownership of the chain. Others, like Chestnut Hill or Brookline , were never Shaw's. The store was originally a little smaller than it is now, as it's been expanded to its present 35,000 square feet out the back and by expanding into neighboring storef...

That's a wrap on Brookline! It was a quick visit, no doubt -- I'd love to return and get more pictures of some of the stores, and visit the Maruichi -- but for now, it'll have to do. Newton is right along the Mass Pike west of Boston (which, in that area, runs alongside the Framingham Worcester MBTA rail line). Chestnut Hill is a small, green residential town next to Brookline and Needham is a bit west of that. I've visited many, but not all, of the supermarkets in this area (my coverage is spotty the farther out from Boston and the train line you get). We're going to start in Chestnut Hill right near the Brookline border, then a stop in Needham and then through the Newton Highlands area.
