Now, the same company is behind a revitalization of this previously vacant storefront along Kensington, Brooklyn's Church Avenue corridor with a large South Asian population in the area (and several South Asian and halal supermarkets around). At a bit under 6000 square feet, this location is smaller than the Ozone Park one. The interior is very similar to the Ozone Park location, but the layout is a bit different. Produce is on the right side with a butcher counter and packaged meats at the back. And it's true that most of New Hampshire's grocery stores are pretty straightforward. But Nashua and its surroundings have a significant Indian American community, and so businesses catering to that community have popped up too. Patel Brothers is one of the latest additions, opening their first and only New Hampshire location here in 2021. This former JC Penney Home Store is around 25,000 square feet, and the produce department takes up a large part of the store at the front. It's oriented with the first aisle here running along the front wall of the store and the registers along the left-side wall. The 63,000 square foot space was subdivided, with about 30,000 square feet being dedicated to a brand-new Patel Brothers. It's a logical new tenant, as the Indian American community of this part of Central Jersey is growing rapidly. And although there's a lot of retail right in this area of Piscataway, there are no Indian supermarkets right here (there's a Subzi Mandi in the southern part of town). Patel Brothers very extensively renovated the left side of the former ShopRite into a brand-new, stylish Indian supermarket.
