Before we begin, just a heads up: this was originally posted in March 2020, but was rewritten with new photos in June 2026. Now for the post! Can you believe there's actually a centennial A&P hiding behind that facade? A&P built this store in the early 1960s, and it's on the smaller side for a centennial, measuring just about 12,000 square feet. By 1982, it had become a Key Food. And it's a Key Food today, so that's that, right? Nope. At some point, it switched from Key Food to Associated, then switched back to Key Food between 2007 and 2012. Even that's not the end of the story. Around 2016, it became a Krasdale-affiliated independent called The Food Kingdom, and then in 2018, it went right back to Key Food.

Key Food's layout is rotated 90 degrees compared to how A&P's would've been, as it now faces the parking lot instead of the street. Produce is on the left side (that's up by the street) with deli in an island facing produce. Meat and dairy are on the back wall, and dairy continues down the last aisle along with frozen. On the front wall to the right of the registers is a seafood department.

It's been a while since this store has gotten a full floor-to-ceiling renovation, but you can see that it's in good shape because of incremental upgrades over the years. One other note: with all those name changes over the past several decades, I'm not clear when or how many times ownership actually changed.
This is an unusual spot for seafood, but maybe it's simply the most convenient place to add it. Clearly, this is a relatively new addition to the store.
It's always fun to see how new owners have updated these old centennial A&P stores, and this one looks like it's ready to stay a supermarket for many years to come!
