Lots of SuperFresh and Key Food news today, so why not keep the trend going and report on the upcoming SuperFresh in Middlesex, NJ, which was previously the Price Saver Fresh Marketplace? We most recently saw the store this spring, with a glimpse of the renovation going on inside. The Price Saver signage has been removed, and work ongoing inside is extremely extensive. The store's floor and ceiling have been torn out, with the exposed ceiling painted black and the concrete in the process of being finished. Fixtures are going in and the decor is being installed too, with the same decor package as Linden and Hopelawn. The store's roughly 65,000 square foot building makes it the second-largest SuperFresh, behind only Linden.
SuperFresh may paint this awning, especially since its color doesn't really match the SuperFresh branding.
Notice that the enclosed foyer has been shortened so that the entrance is directly into the store, rather than into the foyer (where a wall was removed). A closeup shows exactly what the new setup with be below...
And looking inside the store, we can see both construction work and the decor that's already been installed...
Notice that some of the fixtures appear to be left over from Price Saver, but it looks like some may be new. The work is clearly extensive -- to the point that apparently a tractor is needed inside the store:
Not quite sure what that's necessary for, but we can again see the fixtures and decor going in. It looks like produce will be on the left side with seafood at the back of the produce department, and possibly deli/bakery on the right part of the back wall. I'm not sure where the meat department would go in that case, though, but some signage visible on the back wall seems to suggest deli and not meat.
Here we can see below the paper covering most of the windows. The registers will be under this lower ceiling area in the front, with most of the store in the area with the new, exposed higher ceiling. And below you can see freezer cases along with decor, specifically the bread sign on the right side, that suggests deli and bakery will be on the back wall.
Again, the same decor as Linden and Hopelawn. And the exit doors on the right side were actually open, so theoretically I could've just walked inside. But with active construction work going on inside the store, I thought that was a bad idea.
But we can see inside through the exit doors to what will be the new front-end. I'm sure it'll look great when it's done!
You can be sure I'll be back for this store's opening. But in the meantime, check out today's other posts here!
