Hanley's General Store Opened: ca. 1900 Owner: Andrew Shaw Previous Tenants: none Cooperative: Associated Grocers Northeast Location: 30 S VT-108, Jeffersonville, VT Photographed: August 9, 2025 Vermont has a lot of general stores. Nobody tracks where the most general stores are, but it definitely feels like it would be (or should be) Vermont. Produce and dairy are in the first aisle on the left side, with deli and...
Cambridge Village Market Opened: 2023 under current ownership; 1850s previously Owner: Ron and Linda Frey Previous Tenants: none Cooperative: Associated Grocers Northeast Location: 113 S Main St, Cambridge, VT Photographed: August 9, 2025 It's time to visit another small store similar to Steeple Market , which I posted Friday. This store is slightly larger than Steeple Market, measuring around 5600 square feet. The produce department is up front along with baked goods and the registers. Beer/wine and frozen foods are on the left side; dairy and meat are on the right side; deli is towards the back. Despite the [town name] Village Market name, this store isn't owned by Ass...
