Flemington is the county seat of Hunterdon County, but still a pretty small town with just 4600 people. It's got a quaint downtown but plenty of highways around the town, and this Stop & Shop (built in the late 90s as an Edwards, then rebranded 2000) is located on route 31 just north of town. We saw the ShopRite and former A&P just north on 31 in Washington and Hampton, respectively, and 31 ends at 46 just to the east of Belvidere. The store here is almost exactly 50,000 square feet.
What else is in Flemington? Plenty, but my highlights would be the ShopRite about three miles south of here (because that's today's other post) and then Northlandz, a bizarre but 100% worth seeing supermarket-sized, three-story model railroad museum... or whatever it might be called. You have to see it! Tomorrow we head just south of Flemington to check out a unique little store over on The Independent Edition!

  1. Flemington may be a small town, but famous for a bunch of places for a more suburban feel...like supermarkets and other stores, and fast food and other restaurants, especially Chick-fil-A. They even had fur coats!

  2. The Flemington Edwards opened on June 4, 1997. Like all Edwards stores, it was converted to the Stop & Shop nameplate by the end of 2000 (as you mentioned).

Thanks for telling us about Northlandz, as it seems like a really cool place to visit.

    1. Thanks, so it was definitely a short-lived Edwards. And of course, definitely check out Northlandz sometime!
