Shaw's Opened: ca. 1990 Owner: Albertsons Companies Previous Tenants: none Cooperative: none Location: 125 Pearl St, Braintree, MA Photographed: July 6, 2019 Our first stop in the area is here in Braintree, about three and a half miles south of Quincy Center. It's a very quick look at a 45,000 square foot Shaw's, which opened around 1990 with the rest of this new-build strip mall. It looks to be roughly similar in setup and design to this store , although it's not quite as nicely renovated. Braintree's other supermarket is a Stop & Shop about a mile southeast. Now that this brief stop is out of the way, we'll head north tomorrow to visit a supermarket on the southern end of Quincy that recently closed, plus the new store that took its place!
