It's becoming clear that the scope of the remodel is much more significant than I had initially thought, so let's check it out. The bakery department has been rearranged. A service counter that was previously here has been removed, and the case for donuts and pastries to the left of the service counter is also gone. Now, fresh breads are back here in the bakery department -- that's where they were originally before they were moved over to the deli counter, and then the fresh bread counter was eliminated entirely -- and all self-service rolls, bagels, pastries, donuts, and the like are in a new island opposite this area. Dumbo Market Opened: December 18, 2025 Owner:  Mohammed Mujalli Previous Tenants:  CVS Cooperative:  Key Food Stores Location:  1223 2nd Ave, Manhattan, NY Photographed:  February 18, 2026 Welcome to the Upper East Side, where a 12,000 square foot former CVS has reopened as the latest Dumbo Market. This store opened only about a month after the new-build Long Island City location , and while it's pretty similar, it's slightly smaller and a little less upscale. That one, for instance, has a dedicated bakery department, a seafood counter, and a small seating area, none of which this store has. Still, it's an attractive, sleek, and stylish new supermarket. You enter on the left side of the store to the produce department in the first aisle, with service deli and a sushi counter at the back. Another former Rite Aid has become a supermarket! This one is now Badshahs Farmers Market, a South Asian store with large Bangladeshi, Indian, and Guyanese selections (South Richmond Hill's Liberty Avenue corridor, just two blocks south, is known as Little Guyana). The roughly 11,000 square foot store does appear to be connected to a Long Island supermarket called Badshah Farmers Market , but this one has an "s" on the end of the name. And here, Badshahs has expanded the supermarket into the parking lot, taking up about half of the lot with rows of produce, sale items, and storage containers.
