Welcome to the newer Trader Joe's in Back Bay! The smallest Trader Joe's in the known universe, at just 5200 square feet, is a bit west on Boylston Street. This one is a bit larger, at 16,500 square feet. The store opened in the spring of 2024.
Inside, it's a pretty straightforward Trader Joe's location. You enter to produce on the left side of the store, with dairy and cheese on the back wall. Frozen is in the middle of the store, with meats and nonfoods in the last aisle. There's a beer and wine section in the front-right corner.
The artwork on the walls here is a little more muted in color and design compared to what Trader Joe's had done in the past, and also notice that the base color is blue, not beige.
Still, I like the illustrations on the walls.
Frozen foods are in the middle of the store.
I photographed this store well after I had been to most of the stores in Boston, not until this past May.
Cheese and dairy in the back-right corner.
Meats and cold cuts are then in the last aisle along with baked goods. Nonfoods and beer/wine are in front of that.
Like many urban Trader Joe's, this one has many registers in a row with one checkout line for all of them.
And that's all for this new Trader Joe's, although another one is on its way to the West Roxbury part of Boston. Don't miss the older and smaller location here, and enjoy the weekend -- but come back Saturday and Sunday for a look at several new stores in New York and New Jersey!
