ALDI
Most ALDIs are exactly the same, so the layout here is very straightforward: produce and baked goods in the first aisle, dairy and cold cuts on the back wall, meat and frozen in the last aisle.
This one seemed a bit cleaner and better organized than many ALDIs I go to. That might be because of just how many other supermarkets are literally within walking distance here, so there are plenty of choices.
Meats are in a small bump-out in the back-left corner, and the store gets slightly narrower in the front part of the last aisle.
That's again a pretty common ALDI setup, and it looks like that's because the frozen food storage is built into the store behind these freezer cases, presumably so they can be stocked from behind as many stores have for dairy/milk cases.
And a look across the front-end, with self-checkout and a few staffed registers...
Opened: 2010
It's been nicely renovated with the latest ALDI decor, to the point that it almost feels like a much newer store than it is -- except for the flooring, which is the dead giveaway it originally had this decor package.Owner: ALDI Sud

Visit number 3 of five here in Milford is the ALDI, to the northeast of downtown. This approximately 18,000 square foot store was built in 2010 on the site of a former car dealership, and is situated right between a Stop & Shop to the east and a Big Y to the west that we'll be seeing tomorrow.

Tomorrow, we're going to check out the Big Y nearby, which has a fascinating history. Come back to tour it!
