Our first store is the only grocer here in Bridport, Vermont -- a town of just about 1200 -- and it's Pratt's Store, a general store/small supermarket of around 4,000 square feet. It's been Pratt's since 1969, but it was likely another grocery store prior to that. It also has a gas station out front, as many of these small-town stores are really the one-stop shop.

Now, my pictures are only from a drive-by in the summer of 2025, but thanks to these images posted by Adirondack Drone to Google Maps, we can actually see a full store tour thanks to this interactive set of views. I've included a few key ones below, but definitely click and drag to tour the store in 3-D!

So it looks like grab and go prepared foods, frozen, and nonfoods are here in the first aisle on the left side. Deli and butcher are at the back along with produce, and dairy, beverages, and beer are on the right side with maybe three grocery aisles in the middle. As you can see in these pictures, there's a lot here and it goes far beyond a small convenience store's selection.

I'm seeing Food Club and Simply Done items on these shelves, so I think it's likely that this store is a member of Associated Grocers of New England (which distributes those brands). I haven't been able to confirm that, and this store doesn't use the distinctive AGNE price tags that others do.

Still, the vast majority of independent stores in this region are under AGNE.

It's really exciting that we get to see such an extensive look inside despite the fact that I've never been in the store myself. Tomorrow, we're going to see another small general store about seven miles north in the next town over!
