A very quick special report just to mention the fact that LIDL is coming to Livingston, NJ, which I don't believe has been reported anywhere else, except by me, on Twitter. By the way, you should go check out and follow that Twitter thread, where I report on all kinds of supermarket news from the northeast, including my own observations and reposts of articles worth reading.
The roughly 42,000 square foot former Toys R Us of Livingston is being prepared for the opening of a LIDL, although I assume they will not be taking the whole space (but who knows). This signage is all over the front fencing across the property, boldly announcing the discounter's impending arrival. This store is located just half a mile from the existing ALDI at the Livingston Circle, and directly next door to the Route 10 Farmers Market (in fact sharing a parking lot with it).     I love Lidel can’t wait till it opens near me o. Livingston, NJ. I’ve been patiently watching its progress. Hope it’s soon.

      Unfortunately, not yet. I would bet early 2023, based on what I've heard from a family member who lives nearby.

    Pretty sure this idea got scrapped , property is now for rent and lidl went from hiring a manager for the livingston location to hiring a manager for their morristown location on hanover ave across from the shoprite

      Lidle store in Livingston is about to open soon...there 2 Lidle stores were stated to open in NJ -Livingston is one of them. The abandoning of the store post is FALSE !

      I drove past the store under construction again today. There is now a large permanent Lidl Supermarket sign at the end of the driveway by Rt. 10. It looks like they plan to open fairly soon.

    Finally glad that there is a supermarket very close to East Hanover, so know you don’t have to drive to Parsippany to go to ShopRite. This store was supposed to open last year, but it’s still not open as of January 28. Maybe delayed?
