We're returning to Worcester for today's first post, and because I recently made a trip back to Massachusetts that's where our focus will be today. We're back at the Crown Meat Market, which I posted last fall. But the Brazilian grocer has now moved to the other end of the building they were previously in, expanding into a roughly 5000 square foot former bank.
This has allowed them to expand the grocery selection as well as add a bakery, deli, and cafe.
On the left side of the new store, there's two short aisles with frozen and dairy. Produce is in the middle, with the rest of grocery in the main part of the store and meat on the back wall. In the back-right corner is the bakery, deli, and cafe, and in the front-right corner is an expanded nonfoods selection.
Looks like most of the coolers are secondhand from other stores -- are those frozen food cases from Family Dollar? -- and other fixtures might've been brought over from the original store.
Above, we're looking across the back wall of the store.
Service butcher and bakery/deli counters are also on the back wall, and that's a big focus here. Worcester also recently gained a Seabra Foods, which we'll see today also.
Bakery and cafe in the back right corner.
Nice baked goods, too! There are a number of Brazilian and Portuguese bakeries in town, but the number of grocers representing those communities is growing in most of Massachusetts.
And the new and larger nonfoods section in the front-right corner, in front of the cafe. It's nice to see this store expanding with a new location, and there's a lot more here in MA to see this weekend!
