Welcome to Trenton! If this and our recent visit to Camden might make you think we're back in my home state of New Jersey, I'd like to remind you that Trenton, Maine has a population of just 1500. (Trenton, NJ has almost 100,000.) Here we're taking a quick look at an Edwards Brothers Supermarket, which opened at some point between 2019 and 2023 taking over a longtime independent called Trenton Marketplace.

This supermarket is around 11,000 square feet and is supplied by Hannaford. Edwards Brothers also recently took over a location in Searsport, bringing their total store count to 4. Here's a look inside the store from Google Maps.

Trenton's Edwards Brothers Supermarket is a little over a mile north of the Trenton Bridge, which connects the mainland to Mount Desert Island. That's where we're headed for today's other post, and for the final coastal Maine post tomorrow!
