Market Basket

Right around the corner from yesterday's Shaw's is the Market Basket in Newburyport. At around 60,000 square feet, it's about 10,000 square feet larger than the Shaw's, and is much higher-volume. Still, the two have coexisted for at least about 20 years. This Market Basket opened around 1990, and doesn't appear to have moved from elsewhere in town.

The interior appears to be a pretty straightforward Market Basket, and this store appears to have the prepared foods and bakery setup of Salem -- missing the cafe and seating area that newer stores have. That makes me think the store probably hasn't been remodeled since it opened. Can you believe that we only have one more store in Massachusetts to visit?
