Snapshot: Food Lion - Inwood, WV

Apologies for the random content lately! I have a few weeks' worth of random posts to finish up, and three more themed weeks, before we move on to a brand-new group of stores starting June 1. This store is one I snapped coming back from Virginia.
Not much to say about this store, I guess. It's at 4803 Gerrardstown Rd in Inwood, WV.

Photographed March 2018

  1. As far as I know, the store was notably remodeled/expanded in 2002 to the rare Millennium/Round Format hybrid, with the deli/bakery and produce on the right around a rounded wall. The store was remodeled again in 2006, but what they did was paint the walls, keeping the Millennium decor intact, upgraded cases, only changing the floors in the deli/produce area, and adding valance signage from the Quality and Value area. A bit cheap, right? I'll show you a Google Maps photo of the Inwood store, here's a link:,-78.0436097,4a,45y/data=!3m8!1e2!3m6!1sAF1QipOVyDhEn3gb47_tOsysAtazF_ApVE8Ne9-G4cly!2e10!3e12!!7i5312!8i2988!4m5!3m4!1s0x89b5f89dc63a8b65:0x9dd900bdd66540f3!8m2!3d39.3634558!4d-78.0435115

If you want to see what I mean by a Millennium/Round Format hybrid, check out a Google Maps photo from 2017 of the Food Lion on Folly Road in Charleston, here's another link:,-79.9683827,3a,75y,90t/data=!3m8!1e2!3m6!1sAF1QipMFLeW3AZYfK8qafrFO75SqLP8uMvfQYQu2yRXw!2e10!3e12!!7i4048!8i3036!4m5!3m4!1s0x88fe78fec26545b5:0xf75e38e4577708ec!8m2!3d32.7173046!4d-79.9683827

    1. Interesting, thank you very much! Yes, that signage upgrade looks pretty cheap.
