Today's special report comes to us via contributor Alex K., who sends us pictures of Long Island's first Wegmans, set to open in early 2025 . The new-build store replaces a row of other closed stores, including a Toys R Us and a Babies R Us. The store will be over 100,000 square feet . Additional area Wegmans are planned for the Upper West Side of Manhattan and Connecticut . The store looks to be in the typical Wegmans format, an example of which you can see here . It'll be interesting to see what the prepared foods offerings look like here. During COVID, Wegmans cut back a lot of the prepared foods options because customers weren't doing self-service bars, nor were they eating in-store.
