Location:  90-80 US-206 N, Byram, NJ Photographed:  April 2020 Finishing up our Sussex County group with a very quick update here at the Byram ShopRite! After our initial tour in 2019 (with 2016 pictures), we return to see theat the exterior signage has been updated with the new logo. The interior has also been updated with the same decor swap we saw in Newton most recently. It's likely that the construction of this store put the A&P in Andover out of business. Well, we've finished up every supermarket in Sussex County! (There are a few former supermarkets around the county that I didn't quite make it to, so those can be coming to the blog our next time around.) Tomorrow I'll introduce our next group which is gonna be a fun one!

Here's a look at another one of my favorite ShopRites! I've always been a fan of the RoNetco stores, even though they're a little on the older side as a group. This ShopRite was built in the late 1990s (between 1995 and 2002, according to Historic Aerials). However, it appears to have been expanded twice. Today, the store is estimated by Google Maps to be over 80,000 square feet and it feels absolutely massive inside. Originally, the store would have been approximately 67,000 square feet, which is not exactly tiny as it is. An additional 7,000 square feet next door would have been occupied by a RoNetco-owned ShopRite liquor store which has since moved to the far end of the shopping mall. ShopRite also expanded into an approximately 650 square foot storefront on the far end. (In this photo of the "Bryam" ShopRite, you can see the liquor store that has since been moved.)
