Update: SuperFresh & Food Universe!

We're back in Marine Park in southern Brooklyn to check in on the remodel at the tiny supermarket here. You can see previous coverage here . It appears to be done (I think?) with remodeling -- although there's still a lot that seems unfinished, it doesn't look like any more work is going on. New shelving for snacks and bread, along with a case for fresh rolls, has been added to the front-right corner of the store. Produce and frozen are in the first aisle on the right side, with the rest of frozen lining the back wall. Associated Fresh - Bronx, NY (Mt Hope)

Obviously, we've been here many times before, but today we're back to see a few new stores. I'm particularly excited about this tour because I visited this store first back in November of 2023, photographing it at the end of its time as a Compare Foods (which opened in 2019). It appears to have closed shortly after I visited, then changed ownership and reopened last month as a brand-new Associated Fresh. So I have a fun before-and-after of the place. The store was originally slated to be a Fine Fare, and appears to have been constructed in early 2018 (in an existing building).
