ShopRite of Parsippany Owner: Sunrise Supermarkets Opened:  2000 Previous Tenants:  none Cooperative:  Wakefern Food Corp Location:  808 US-46, Parsippany, NJ Photographed:  June 16, 2023 We're back at the Parsippany ShopRite after several years (see my 2019 tour here ) to check out the latest renovation after its grand reopening in May . The nearly 90,000 square foot store is looking good after the renovations but they were mostly cosmetic. On the other hand, the store had been updated in small ways here and there over the years, so fixtures and other parts of the store didn't need a huge update. Although the store did have its grand reopening, there's still a few little things around that are still in progress. Here's a look inside the foyer, where the wall is being updated with what will likely be new Sunrise signage. Whole Foods Market Opened: 2019 Previous Tenants:  none Location:  60 Waterview Blvd, Parsippany, NJ Photographed:  January 2020 We are arriving at our second-to-last Parsippany stop at Waterview Boulevard and route 46! The store opened in November 2019 as a new-built location at 48,000 square feet. In fact, it was one of the original tenants in the Waterview Marketplace which opened at the same time. Now, I do find the exterior very attractive, but why is the main sign not at the top of the facade (where the now open banner is)? I assume the size of the signage is due to zoning regulations, but at least it could be located better to mark the main entrance there on the left. Produce lines the left of the store, with HABA and bulk in the first few aisles and bakery, dairy, then meat/seafood on the back wall. Original Tenant: ACME Markets Address: 3035 US-46, Parsippany, NJ Opened:  1960s Closed:  1991-92 Later Tenants:  Michaels > subdivided Photographed:  June 2020 Today's second store, which is just to the north of our first stop at Subzi Mandi , was also one of the very early stores that Acme Style covered back in 2009 . Since then, the 21,000 square foot building went from a Michaels arts and crafts store to a Blink Fitness and a few smaller tenants as Michaels moved up the highway into a former A&P . The exterior, as we see, was also given a light refresh with a new coat of paint at the same time. This window, done to match the store's interior , would have displayed the sale circulars for the week to customers before they entered. Here's a look across the front of the store, which looks to have been altered since the ACME days (those windows look larger than ACME's would have been, and we can see the differences in brick).
