I rarely get this far south in New Jersey -- we're about 30 miles east of Wilmington here, and almost 100 miles from the area where I live so this isn't a frequent destination of mine. But when I do get the chance to make it down here, I get to see some really interesting stores, including the new H Mart in Cherry Hill and this store, the spectacular new ShopRite of Cherrywood Plaza! Okay, spectacular except for one thing: who approved the lettering on that sign? No, the S isn't falling down, it was simply installed wrong before opening. Here's what the lettering is supposed to look like. With that gripe out of the way, let's take an extensive tour of what must be one of the best ShopRites I've ever been to. Shaw's Opened: unknown Owner:  Albertsons Companies Previous Tenants:  unknown Cooperative:  none Location:  45 Storey Ave, Newburyport, MA Photographed:  July 7, 2023 Newburyport is known for its scenic waterfront and quaint downtown on the Merrimack River, but The Market Report isn't in town for any of that! Instead, today we're to the northwest of downtown to visit the local Shaw's, one of two supermarkets in town. The other is a Market Basket literally next door to this one, which we'll take a quick look at tomorrow. A word of advice: if you come to Newburyport for one thing, make it the waterfront downtown, not the Shaw's. While there's certainly nothing wrong with this Shaw's, even I can't recommend it as a destination. It's nice, and newly renovated, but looks exactly like every other recently-renovated Shaw's out there.
