Of course, this won't be the newest for long, as a Kips Bay location in Manhattan is set to open on February 26 . I visited Totowa, which opened on February 4, that morning shortly after the doors opened for the first time, but I wasn't able to get the pictures posted until now. So let's check out the new store! At a little over 27,000 square feet, this is on the smaller side for LIDL, although their newer stores seem to be getting smaller. Their expansion seems to be still going strong in the New York metro area, with at least three or four I can think of in progress within the city itself. We saw a new store in Brooklyn along with one in progress yesterday , and today's first post is another set of two in north Jersey. Let's take a walk through the new LIDL in Paramus, NJ, which opened in February at the end of a strip mall in one of New Jersey's busiest retail corridors. Paramus is home to lots of supermarkets , including a first-gen Amazon Fresh basically right across the highway from this store. Although this new LIDL and the Amazon Fresh are very different formats, they definitely compete directly. This 30,000 square foot store looks a lot like other recent LIDLs we've seen, including yesterday's downtown Brooklyn location. The layout is a bit different, but not that unlike the other LIDLs.
