The Safeway at the Chesterbrook Shopping Center dates back to the Marina days of the 1950s/60s with an original 11,000 square foot Marina building. Today, it's been expanded out to 36,000 square feet but its Marina essence remains. It looks like a very attractive redesign of an original Marina store -- and I'm very glad they've left the bones visible instead of covering them all up! Here's what the store looked like prior to its remodel. It also looks like the wooden ceiling beams are visible inside. Certainly a place I'd like to visit if I were ever in the area myself.
