It's time for the final supermarket of this region of New Hampshire! This Hannaford is just outside of downtown Keene, and was built in the 1980s as a Hannaford-owned Sun Foods warehouse store. The store spans about 65,000 square feet, on the larger side for Hannaford. It's near an ALDI and a Price Chopper, with a Market Basket slightly farther away, but right downtown in Keene is the beautiful Monadnock Food Co-op, which you can tour here. For now, enjoy the weekend, and see you in Nashua next week!

Technically the Market Basket is addressed as Swanzey, but within throwing distance of the town line ;). And, what I'm pretty sure is the furthest west store for that brand as well (since at that point you are not much east of Springfield, MA while one has to go past Sturbridge to find them in that state)?
ReplyDeleteAnd, for your less fancy groceries, don't forget Mr. G's about a block down the same side of the street as the Hannaford.
They are kind of like a locally run Ollie's type setup (not just food but other items as well picked up as overstocked or similar), but (as I remember) some items are also out of date as some of these states allow to be sold (since so many are still perfectly good).
It appears Hannaford remodeled this one sometime in the early 2000s based on the facade design on the left side. Pictures online before its latest remodel showed it with the older, more colorful version of the Festival decor package.
