It's completed a minor remodel but is looking good these days, especially with a fresh coat of paint outside. You can see the store prior to the remodel (and during) here . This was a pretty small update, with just some new paint and decor along with a reset of the grocery aisles. I'm not entirely certain, but it doesn't look like most of the fixtures were replaced, just repainted. The flooring remains from Pathmark, as does the layout with some grocery aisles to the left of produce and the rest to the right. One odd change during the remodel was moving health and beauty items out of these aisles next to the pharmacy to the complete opposite side of the store, near pharmacy. Stop & Shop Opened: 2015 Owner: Ahold Delhaize Previous Tenants:  Pathmark Cooperative: none Location:  407 Valley Rd, South Orange, NJ Photographed:  March 1, 2024 and May 8, 2026 We are returning to the South Orange Stop & Shop -- though that's mostly a technicality, since my original post on this store doesn't exactly have much detail. The roughly 45,000 square foot supermarket is built with a really unusual configuration, and it's below street level. (The parking lot even includes a tunnel under this entrance ramp.) Pathmark built the store in the 1970s, selling it to Stop & Shop in 2015. Stop & Shop then did a quick remodel, and finally it's getting a more extensive remodel.
