Shaw's Opened: ca. 2007 Owner: Albertsons Companies Previous Tenants: none Cooperative: none Location: 7 Continental Blvd, Merrimack, NH Photographed: July 2, 2026 Merrimack's two supermarkets are both Shaw's, and stepping into the one on the north end of town feels like stepping back 25 years. This one is also a bit of a relic, but it looks far better today and also seems to be higher volume. Shaw's constructed this store between 2005 and 2008, or about seven years after the 570 Daniel Webster Highway one. (There are multiple other Shaw's on Daniel Webster Highway in other towns.) At about 55,000 square feet, this one is smaller than the Daniel Webster one. This pairing is intriguing to me, too, as this store has a lot in common with the Indian Lake Shaw's in Worcester, while the other store in town feels like the Webster Square Shaw's . This town of around 30,000 is a suburb located between Nashua and Manchester (so we're just five miles south of the Kilton Road Hannaford here). Like Kilton Road, this is a roughly 70,000 square foot supermarket, and Shaw's built this store around 2000. It was a new store when it opened, possibly replacing another location in town but I don't know where that might be. Now, it's one of two Shaw's in Merrimack, which are also the only two supermarkets in town. Possibly because of the lack of competition, Merrimack is a serious time capsule when it comes to the supermarkets. Yep -- this Shaw's has hardly changed a bit since opening day around 2000.
