The banner, whose locations are mostly in New York City, is part of A&E Supermarket Group, which also owns City Fresh Market. There are three Cherry Valleys in the Bronx, one of which is only a few years old. The other two are much, much older, but things are happening at both. This store has a bit of a strange setup, with two entrances. The one we see below faces Webster Avenue, and leads customers to the deli and prepared foods/juice bar area. The one in the first picture looks out onto a pedestrian plaza along Park Avenue. I don't know too many details about this store, but it appears to be around 17,000 square feet. It's definitely been a supermarket for at least several decad...

We're heading just a block and a half east from yesterday's Fine Fare. But man, does that block and a half feel longer when you're walking through the pouring rain. This store is a very nice one that changed ownership and was completely renovated in 2016. The renovations included a new awning and windows outside, and all new decor, fixtures, and flooring inside. You enter on the left side of the store, with deli immediately inside on your left. Produce lines the first aisle with meat on the back wall. In the last aisle, dairy runs along the side wall with frozen facing. Exactly the same layout we've seen many times before! Another very nice store with some great floors and ceilings! Just half a mile north from yesterday's CTown doesn't seem like such a bad deal to get to this Fine Fare. But let me tell you, when it's 90+ degrees and high humidity, it's not wonderful. This Fine Fare, however, was definitely worth seeing. It's kind of a relic in some ways and perfectly normal in others. The building was unfortunately pretty covered with scaffolding for work unrelated to the supermarket. It does, however, rather obstruct our view of the Fine Fare. Should have called up the building super beforehand and tell him that The Market Report was coming so would you please remove any obstructions to getting the full shot of the Fine Fare. This supermarket is nothing if not quirky. You enter on the right side of the storefront and turn right 90 degrees to go up a narrow and hilarious one-way ramp, as we'll see, to a tiny produce department with a deli. You then can go back down a separate ramp to meats in the first aisle, dairy on the back ...
