There's a smaller store downtown, but here on route 46, Subzi Mandi Farmers Market has opened in a 16,000 square foot store previously home to Filstop , a Filipino supermarket. It's just next door from a former ACME . Subzi Mandi has extensively renovated the supermarket with a brand-new interior, including all-new fixtures and a new decor package. Produce is in the front-right corner, with dairy in the rest of the first aisle. Frozen foods are on the back wall and continuing down the last aisle, with hot food and bakery in the front-left corner. Subzi Mandi has about a half-dozen locations in New Jersey and New York, and a handful in Texas. This is a very attractive store, and serves a growing Indian community in this are...

We saw the Super Foodtown of Lake Hiawatha in Parsippany, NJ over a year ago, a converted Grand Union that closed in the 2001 bankruptcy and was taken over by the LaRacca brothers, who had a small chain of stores under the Foodtown group. Today it's their only store. However, that Grand Union was likely renovated and expanded to coincide with the closing of their other store in Parsippany, this location on Littleton Rd. Today the building has been divided among several smaller stores, including Dunkin' Donuts, Subzi Mandi (an Indian grocery store), Chand Palace, and Pearl Banquet Hall. Subzi Mandi always has a random assortment of shopping carts, many retired from the nearby ShopRite.
