Snapshot: Stiles Farmers Market - Midtown

Rounding out Farmers Market Week is this small storefront in Midtown Manhattan, NY. This particular location was rather difficult to find when researching online due to the fact that there seem to be multiple stores called Stiles Farmers Market. Making matters worse is the fact that this store was formerly called Stile's  Farmers Market. It's at 476 9th Ave, and the Stiles Farmers Market also sells some basic groceries and baked goods.

Snapshot: Rockaway Farmers Market - Rockaway, NJ

Heading out west to Rockaway, whose ShopRite we've seen before. The township is also home to the Rockaway Farmers Market at 353 US-46. It's actually a barrel-roof building, although it's more likely to be a former skating rink than a former supermarket. Can anyone confirm this? The Rockaway Farmers Market first opened sometime between 2012 and 2016, then closed and reopened under new ownership. It has remained open since. The store features a full deli, seafood department, and even sushi and a floral department. You can check out the interior here , here , here , and here .

Snapshot: 91 Farmers Market - Brick, NJ

If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time The Market Report is venturing down to the Jersey Shore! Obviously I've been down there before this, but never bothered to photograph a supermarket. Oh well. The 91 Farmers Market, shown here in the middle of the Dorado Plaza at 34 Lanes Mill Rd, was previously a Krauzer's Food Store and later, Juana Banana Market & Café.

Snapshot: Route 10 Farmers Market - Livingston, NJ

Another NJ Farmers Marketing Alliance store today! Like Central Farmers Market , the Route 10 Farmers Market is a smaller-scale market, and it's also in an affluent neighborhood. I've been inside this store twice, but can't quite remember its services. I know there's a deli and a florist, but I don't think there's meat or seafood. Its hours are actually the same as the Central Farmers Market, and I was here to have dinner on a Sunday night at the neighboring Irving's Delicatessen, a famous deli. So unfortunately, the store had already closed at the time of my visit. (By the way, I ate with my father at Irving's, and we were both sorely disappointed. If you want one of the best sandwiches in northern NJ, check out Dara's Caterers at 454 Elmora Ave in Elizabeth -- maybe while you're visiting the Elmora Farmers Market at 190 Elmora Ave! They have a fantastic selection and top-quality ingredients.) I was impressed to see that all the carts ...

TOUR: Central Farmers Market - New Providence, NJ

Central Farmers Market Opened:  2014 Owner:  The Farmers Market Group Previous Tenants:  A&P (ca. 1960-2010) Cooperative:  none Location:  598 Central Ave, New Providence, NJ Photographed:  March 17, 2018 Our first installment in Farmers Market Week is this store in New Providence, NJ. It's owned by The Farmers Market Group, which also runs similar grocers across north and central Jersey. The building was constructed around 1960, then later renovated and expanded in the 1970s as an A&P, before finally closing in 2010 and moving to the location where ACME is now. For more detailed history, read through Acme Style's various excellent posts on New Providence here . The strip was totally remodeled in 2014, which included the replacement of the old A&P with two smaller businesses, Central Farmers Market and the Fitness Factory Health Club. Note that A&P would have taken this entire space, and the entrance/exit vestibule is still intact,...
