That's the case here in Bridgewater, where local chain Patidar has opened their newest and flagship store in a roughly 37,000 square foot former Buy Buy Baby. The store is large, spacious, and deluxe, with modern decor and a wide range of services not often found in Indian supermarkets (but becoming increasingly common). You enter to the grand aisle on the right side, with produce in the middle and a cafe in the front-right corner, along with prepared foods (both premade and made to order) and a sweets counter on the right side wall. Wegmans Food Markets Opened: 1990s Previous Tenants:  none Location:  724 US-202, Bridgewater, NJ Photographed:  January 2020 Ah, to be a forgetful supermarket blogger. I stopped by this 115,000 square foot Wegmans with a friend while passing through the area to get some lunch. Because most Wegmans look more or less the same, I figured I could take it easy a little bit and get away with just an exterior picture and a few from the second floor cafe overlooking the whole sales floor. Satisfied with my good-enough laziness and with the murky belief that we'd toured a Wegmans at least once here on the blog, I marked this store down as a quick Look Inside instead of a full tour. Trader Joe's Opened:  2019 Previous Tenants:  Golfsmith Location:  315 Promenade Blvd, Bridgewater, NJ Photographed:  January 2020 The first of three stores we're seeing in Bridgewater is this 11,000 square foot Trader Joe's which opened in a former Golfsmith store in early 2019. You can see inside here . Tomorrow we'll be moving just to the west to the Finderne section of Bridgewater to check out a small-chain supermarket's location there on The Independent Edition !

Wegmans comes to The Market Report for the first time! That's right, we're going to be touring one of the older Wegmans stores in New Jersey. This location opened in the early 2000s and is typical of the Wegmans stores of that era. I don't know whether it's been renovated since it originally opened, but it felt practically the same as the brand-new Wegmans in Hanover/Parsippany, which I have not photographed (although I have been there). Similar to some Pathmark layouts, you enter to produce in the center, with prepared foods and other specialty departments along the left side and grocery to the right. One of many things that Wegmans understands is that the floor and ceiling look great as neutral, dark colors. It really brings out the color in the products.
