I'm not sure whether this store actually counts as a bodega . The industry definitions are...limited if in existence at all. It might be more accurate to describe this store as a super butcher shop and grocery store , but that's not exactly too catchy when making a graphic like this one. We're looking at El Bodegon Supermarket at 119 Broadway, Passaic, NJ here. It was recently renovated and the inside, especially the butcher area , looks really nice.

DECEMBER For today's Post of the Month, we're heading back to Elizabeth, NJ for an appropriately quick look at the Quick Food & Deli store at 283 Westfield Ave. Hard to describe exactly what this store is, having never been here. The outside claims they have groceries, meat, deli, dairy, and paper goods. Pretty full-service for a bodega! Google street view, 2016.
