Here's a (really terrible, I know) picture of the Portsmouth location, on route 1 near the coastline. This store was constructed around 1970 as a Shaw's, which was in business with its original Super Shaw's interior all the way until 2008. See the exterior here , and meat , seafood , and dairy . (The other Shaw's in town closed in 2019 .) The roughly 35,000 square foot space reopened in 2011 as a location of McKinnon's . McKinnon's Meat Market Opened: 1966 Owner:  James Kontos Previous Tenants:  unknown Cooperative:  none Location:  239 Elm St, Somerville, MA Photographed:  July 21, 2019 There are two grocery stores at Davis Square here in Somerville. One of them is an H Mart, which was previously a bfresh that you can tour here . The other is McKinnon's, a butcher shop and grocer that dates back to 1966 here at Davis Square and is now a small chain. We saw their Wilmington location last February. The Davis Square McKinnon's is not a large store. In fact, it's only about 2500 square feet. It's primarily a butcher shop, but there's also some other grocery items and produce. But it's definitely not a supermarket the way the other locations are. You enter to the meat department on the left side of the store. Frozen foods and groceries are also in that area, with produce at the front and deli and dairy on the right side. The interior is old-school but extremely well maintained...

McKinnon's Supermarket Opened: 2022 Owner:  Carl and Ed Penta Previous Tenants:  Lucci's Supermarket (1956-2022) Cooperative:  none Location:  211 Lowell St, Wilmington, MA Photographed:  July 8, 2023 Here in Wilmington, a longtime independent supermarket was recently taken over by a local chain. Lucci's Supermarket first opened in Wilmington in 1956, but in 2022, the 20,000 square foot store was sold to McKinnon's Supermarkets , a chain of five stores in northeastern MA and southern NH. It still has an old-school feel, but it's been nicely fixed up. Lucci's appears to have done a renovation shortly before selling the store. Produce and some frozen are in the first aisle on the left side, which is labeled aisle 10. Additional frozen and packaged meat line the back wall, and the rest of the perimeter departments are in an expansion in the back-right corner, with the rest of meat, deli, prepared foods, and bakery in that corner.
