ACME Markets Opened: 2007 Previous Tenants:  none Location:  260 Dunns Mills Rd, Bordentown, NJ Photographed:  January 2021 In 2007, the 32,000 square foot ACME of Bordentown was replaced with this new-build, 54,000 square foot store. As Acme Style points out , it's unusual for ACME to, at that time, have even kept open one of their older stores, much less replace it with a brand-new one. But replace it they did, and even almost 15 years after the store opened, it's looking really great. This very attractive exterior includes a set of entrance/exit doors at either end. The main entrance is to the right, with bakery and deli/prepared foods along the right side wall and produce facing in the grand aisle. Meat and seafood line the back wall, with frozen and dairy at the far left side. Pharmacy is in the front left corner, and notice that the sign on the front still advertises the Sav-On pharmacy. ALDI Opened: 2015 Previous Tenants:  ACME Markets (late 1970s-2007) > Bottom Dollar Food (2012-2015) Location:  262 US-130, Bordentown, NJ Photographed:  January 2021 Towards the southern part of Bordentown, across town from where we saw the ShopRite yesterday, we find this roughly 32,000 square foot former ACME subdivided, now featuring an approximately 18,000 square foot ALDI which opened in 2015 in a former Bottom Dollar Food location. We'll be seeing a few more former locations of the ill-fated Delhaize-owned chain as we progress through the area, and maybe we saw one already ...? (That store still confuses me.) Bottom Dollar occupied the space from 2012 to 2015, but between the ACME's closure in 2007 and Bottom Dollar's opening in 2012, the space remained vacant. ShopRite of Bordentown Owner: Richard Saker / Saker Supermarkets Opened:  1992 Previous Tenants:  Two Guys department store (with food department in ShopRite's current footprint) Cooperative:  Wakefern Food Corp. Location:  622 US-206, Bordentown, NJ Photographed:  January 2021 The 57,000 square foot ShopRite of Bordentown opened in 1992 in part of a former Two Guys, according to JoshAustin610 . The other part of the store became a Bradlees, which until recently was still proudly listed on the monument sign for the strip mall. Because this store has none of the hallmarks of 1990s-era Saker stores (this store would've opened around the same time as Edison , likely), but is not unlike Pennington , I wouldn't be surprised if this was a Laurenti > Big V > Foodarama store as described on Whitehorse . Original Tenant: ACME Markets Address: 1 Sunnybrae Blvd, Yardville, Hamilton, NJ Opened:  ca. 1970 Closed:  2001 Later Tenants:  CVS Photographed:  January 2021 The pitched-roof ACME in the Sunnybrae development in the Yardville section of Hamilton Township was one of the latest pitched-roof stores, opening around 1970. The 19,000 square foot store lasted until 2001, when it was replaced by the existing Yardville ACME just a quarter of a mile southeast.
