A lot, as usual. Here's a roundup of what they're doing: They're preparing to take over a Stop & Shop in Bridgeport, CT, which will be their third location in Bridgeport (see here ) Renovations are being wrapped up at the Junius Street Food Bazaar in Brownsville, Brooklyn The store at 34-20 Junction Blvd in Jackson Heights has closed as it is demolished and rebuilt, following a renovation and expansion (and the addition of a parking lot!) at the 35-60 Junction Blvd location two blocks south The 57th Avenue store -- their original, opened in 1988 -- is also preparing to be demolished and rebuilt And that's only what's happening at the stores I haven't been ...

Food Bazaar Supermarket Owner:  Spencer An Opened:  2009-2022, opening 2024 Previous Tenants:  Food Dimensions (closed 2009) Location:  1102 Myrtle Ave, Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY Photographed:  August 27, 2023 Here's a quick look at the upcoming Food Bazaar on Myrtle Ave in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn. The roughly 40,000 square foot store replaces a store of just around 13,000 square feet , which opened in the 90s or early 00s as a Food Dimensions (the name Food Bazaar previously used for its smaller, no-frills-type stores -- this store didn't even have a deli). We're about 2/3 mile south of the Williamsburg store, and maybe a mile and a half from the other Bushwick store and one in Ridgewood, Queens. I took the above picture from the sidewalk outside a new Shop Fair , opened in late 2022, and around a block and a half east from a Junior's Food Outlet -turned-Western Beef. Just two blocks south of yesterday's Food Bazaar , there is a second Food Bazaar. At about 20,000 square feet, the store is a relatively large size but it does not have a parking lot. This location was previously a Food Dimensions (see the Bushwick West post for some background on that chain). It's located at 35-60 Junction Blvd, Corona. You can see how the store has been remodeled and expanded many times. Now the front wall faces this side (37th Avenue), although Food Dimensions' storefront and entrance faced Junction Blvd. Photographed July 2018

We're taking a look at another Food Bazaar Supermarket just about 0.6 miles southeast of the Food Bazaar on Manhattan Ave we saw on Tuesday. It's situated just off of Broadway on Myrtle Avenue (the other store is situated just off Broadway on Manhattan Avenue). The J and M subways run above Broadway to the north of Myrtle, where the M turns east and runs above Myrtle. The structure you see above the store is just a framework with no train line which extends a block west on Myrtle. I don't know whether it once was or was intended to be a train line itself, or whether it's just necessary as a counterweight. But either way, there are no trains running above the Myrtle Food Bazaar. The station is right around the corner though...
