See my previous post here . This is a much-delayed post, as I didn't realize the store had reopened about a year ago after getting a major overhaul. Here's a look at the exterior before the renovation. I really like this simple, straightforward exterior look. I never got the chance to visit before the fire and closure, so I don't know whether the interior layout changed during the renovation. We saw a few weeks ago the CTown on University Ave in Morris Heights , which burned down in February 2023. A year before that, in February 2022, this Bravo had a major fire . It closed the store but it's almost ready to reopen. I would estimate the size of this store at around 7500 square feet, and until 2014, it was a Met Foodmarket. I'm not sure if ownership changed when the store switched to Bravo, but many stores left Met and its related cooperatives Pioneer, Compare, and Associated in 2014 when their supplier White Rose went bankrupt. We're here at Hugh J Grant Circle -- where four local streets come together with Metropolitan and Westchester Avenues, with the 6 train passing overhead and route 95 underneath -- to check out a supermarket under construction. Unfortunately, I don't really have any information about the supermarket coming soon to this 14,000 square foot former theater space that was a gym and a church in later iterations, other than I happened to be walking by and saw a sign for the supermarket coming soon. The way the space is set up, there's a long walkway (what would have been the entrance/box office for the theater, when it was built in 1928 ) that leads back to the original auditorium, extending behind neighboring storefronts.
