And we're ending on a high note with this store. The 46,000 square foot space was constructed in 1992 by Genuardi's before closing with the chain in 2012. In 2016, a Philadelphia grocer called Keller's Family Market moved into the space, before closing almost immediately. (I suspect that the corner grocer was overwhelmed in this large space, and execution looked pretty weak with no renovation and huge sections of the store turned into weirdly massive seating areas .) In 2019, the established no-frills Pennsylvania supermarket chain Redner's Warehouse Markets announced they would be moving into the space, but as their new higher-end concept Redner's Fresh Market. GIANT Food Stores Opened: 1996 Previous Tenants:  none Location:  2670 Egypt Rd, Audubon, PA Photographed:  July 22, 2021 We're in our final town along the 276 corridor west of Norristown! Welcome to Audubon, which is technically an unincorporated community of about 8400 in Montgomery County. There are two large supermarkets in Audubon (alongside the Walmart and ALDI, and a few independent small stores), one of which is this GIANT. This store was built in 1996 and is just shy of 55,000 square feet. It looks nice enough but not that exciting inside. We will be touring the other supermarket in town up next on Monday, though.
