Ah, Roselle. I mentioned back in July that this store actually showed up in a dream. I need to stop checking in here! That said, here are some new pictures updating us on the construction progress in the store. With Middlesex opening very soon, I hope that means Food World can return to focusing on this location.
We begin with my pictures from mid-August. Construction permits posted! Limited sightlines are available inside, but there was definitely work progressing.
It looks like fixtures were beginning to be constructed and arranged, with the wooden bins likely to be used for produce display.
I'm now wondering if the former deli-bakery room, now outfitted with refrigerator cases all around the perimeter, will become the meat or dairy department. I don't see a service counter setup anywhere here, and I can't imagine the store would be without a deli.
Now onto my more recent October 1 pictures...
The signage was never removed, so it's ready to open anytime...
...except not exactly inside. But there's definitely progress, which is wonderful! Check out these pallets of shelving and other materials ready to be constructed into what will become a supermarket!
But these wooden bins still confuse me, so we'll have to see exactly what they will be used for. But progress is great to see here! Notice too that the decor is gone and it looks like the walls may have been painted. And I would assume this store is soon to receive the same decor as the newer stores, but we'll see.
Sadly, not much is visible from the back entrance. This is the best shot I could get.
Back over in the (former?) deli-bakery room, we see not much of a change. I also wonder if this entrance will be kept closed. It made sense to have a separate entrance to the deli and bakery, but if this area is meat or dairy or something, that doesn't require its own entrance.
And this is the best shot I could get of the former cafe area. I would bet that the newly rebuilt store will not include a cafe.
I know everyone here is sick of seeing this store over and over again, so hopefully very soon I'll be able to happily report the store is opening! In the meantime...

  1. That is so funny that this supermarket appeared in a dream of yours! Truth be told, I am not that surprised to hear such news, because I believe the Roselle SuperFresh is hands down the store that you have written about the most.
