CTown Supermarkets
The University Avenue CTown burned down in early 2023, and now they're rebuilding the supermarket. Work seems to be progressing nicely if slowly, and as of late 2025, the foundation, frame, and some of the walls were in.
Hey, it looks like this could be a building someday!
It's great to see this store rebuilding, although in the time that it's been closed, a new store called Antillana Market Place opened up in a former furniture store. It's on the same block as a longtime small grocer, University Fresh Market, and there's a butcher shop there as well.
Can't you almost imagine the cans of soup? They're right there, just next to the blue tarp. Okay, I might be a little early with that, but it's exciting to see this store starting from scratch after being completely destroyed. So good for them, and I'll be back when it opens!
