Market Fresh Supermarket

You might have heard of Keansburg, New Jersey -- on the Jersey Shore -- because of its small waterfront with a boardwalk and amusement park. But with a population of around 10,000 year-round, Keansburg is a full-fledged town, not just a summer trip spot. Since the 1970s, though, it hasn't had its own grocery store (which a lot of local news coverage has mentioned). A circa-1950 Safeway in town became a Finast in the 1960s before closing by 1975. Now, a full (if small) supermarket has returned to town with the opening of the 11,000 square foot Market Fresh.
Market Fresh is owned by a local businessman who also owns a handful of convenience stores in and around town, but this is his first full supermarket. It's supplied by Krasdale, and occupies a space most recently filled by an independent pharmacy. Produce is in the first aisle on the right side, with deli at the back. There's a small meat department on the back wall (though it doesn't look like they cut or package meat in-store), and dairy/frozen are on the left side. There's an area in the front-left corner for greeting cards and gifts, a holdover from the previous pharmacy.
As you can see, that's a serious produce department, not just a small shelf with a couple basics like a smaller convenience store might have. It's clear they're making an effort to be a full-line supermarket, though there are definitely limitations from the space and the general setup.
Lots of cold cuts, but no fresh-cut meats it seems, in the meat department on the back wall. Still, there's plenty of the basics here for you to get what you need. The grocery aisles are the same way -- all the basics are here. While I've seen plenty of comments praising the convenience of this store, I've also seen some observations that prices are really high compared to other stores in the area. My guess is that's probably just a result of being an independent grocer and, in my experience, Krasdale stores have been on the expensive side since COVID or so.
Still, it's nice to see a clear effort to bring a full-service supermarket to a town that needs it. The store looks great and seems to have what people are looking for.
Dairy is in these built-in coolers in the last aisle, which might even be a holdover from the pharmacy.
